[Financial News] The Korea Arts Council (Arko) has achieved the first result of the global cultural and artistic fundraising fund 'K-Arts Funding'. It is expected to begin in earnest the global cultural and artistic exchange in various genres through 'K-Arts Funding'.
According to Arko on the 21st, the donation pledge ceremony held in Seoul on the 15th was attended by Jeong Byeong-guk, Chairman of Arko, Lee Man-deuk, Chairman of Samchully, and officials from the University of Oxford in the UK, who agreed on the expansion of Hallyu through academia and strengthening the global cultural network.
This donation, sponsored by Samchully, a comprehensive energy company, is used to establish strategic partnerships with major cultural and artistic institutions with international recognition through social sponsorship by Arko. It is promoted as part of 'K-Arts Funding' to seek overseas advancement of domestic artists and globalization of Korean culture and arts.
An Arko official said, "Samchully sponsored 2.5 billion won for the establishment of the 'Hallyu Program' at the University of Oxford," and "It is seen as laying the foundation to academically support the global status of Korean culture."
A Samchully official said, "On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of its founding, we are promoting social contribution with the slogan 'Together! Sharing!' and we are pleased to be able to work with the University of Oxford and our country's Korea Arts Council," and "We will continue to share values with the global society in the field of culture and arts to become a beloved company."
Arko plans to expand the international cultural and artistic partnership model using 'K-Arts Funding' in various genres such as classical and visual arts through its own fundraising campaigns and corporate sponsorship mediation.
