[Financial News] The Public Procurement Service announced that it has activated an emergency inspection system in response to last week's heavy rain and held an 'Emergency Inspection Meeting on Heavy Rain Damage' on the 21st.
The Public Procurement Service operated an emergency contact system immediately over the weekend, monitoring and preparing for damage at 29 construction sites managed by the Public Procurement Service, local government offices, and national stockpiles in real-time.
Deputy Director Baek Seung-bo inspected the damage situation through video conferences with each local office in the morning, including Seoul, Gyeonggi, Daejeon, Chungnam, Jeonnam, and Gwangju, and instructed thorough follow-up inspections of regional procurement company sites and prompt support for damaged sites.
Deputy Director Baek emphasized, "We must thoroughly manage the procurement of materials necessary for the recovery of areas affected by heavy rain, as well as road repairs and infectious disease prevention, without any setbacks," and added, "We must strengthen proactive preventive measures and respond thoroughly to additional damages such as heatwaves and typhoons in the future."
