[Financial News] Kim Jeong-gwan, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, stated on the 21st, "The current US tariff negotiation situation is very serious, where no possibilities can be excluded," and "I will strive to derive the best results from an overall national interest perspective while reflecting sensitivities as much as possible."
 Minister Kim presided over the 'US Trade Emergency Inspection Meeting' at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jung-gu, Seoul on this day, and conveyed this while stating, "We are refining negotiation strategies under close cooperation among related ministries."
 The government urgently convened the meeting on this day to share negotiation strategies and gather private opinions ahead of the imminent imposition of US tariff measures on August 1. Economic organizations, major industry associations, and academia attended the meeting.
 Minister Kim emphasized, "I am deeply aware of the uncertainties facing the industry," and "I will gather industry opinions, including existing support measures, and prepare effective domestic measures."
 In response, the industry expressed its intention to continue communication with the government and respond as a public-private one team in terms of securing negotiation leverage and conducting US outreach activities.
 The Ministry of Industry plans to exert all efforts to ensure that US tariff negotiations conclude smoothly under the principles of maximizing national interest and mutual benefit. Along with this, they plan to continuously discover and promote measures to alleviate short-term business uncertainties and enhance long-term competitiveness for companies.
