[Financial News] CJ Nanum Foundation, the social contribution foundation of CJ Group, announced on the 21st that it has supported 2.2 million children and youth over the past 20 years since its establishment, with the accumulated donation amount reaching 210 billion won.
CJ Nanum Foundation was established in 2005 based on the belief of Chairman Lee Jae-hyun that 'poverty should not be inherited due to lack of educational opportunities.' Over the past 20 years, CJ has consistently supported young people based on 'creating culture,' which it does best.
To commemorate this, CJ Nanum Foundation held a 20th-anniversary ceremony at CJ Talent Institute. Under the slogan '20 YEARS TOGETHER,' they looked back on the past 20 years, thanking donors, volunteers, and teachers at local children's centers who participated in sharing activities.
At the event, plaques of appreciation were presented to a total of 10 people, including actress Kim Na-un and Yoon Kyung-ho, who have consistently participated in foundation activities, as well as outstanding CJ employees, donors, and volunteers.
Along with this, CJ Nanum Foundation produced a storybook containing the foundation's 20-year journey and opened a 20th-anniversary commemorative page on its official website. The storybook and website feature the foundation's footsteps, philosophy, achievements, and thank-you letters written by children themselves.
Known to have been named and conceptualized by Chairman Lee Jae-hyun, 'CJ Donors Camp,' the representative brand and platform of CJ Nanum Foundation, is the first online donation platform created in Korea. It openly discloses donation details and usage, allowing anyone to easily participate in donations.
CJ Nanum Foundation continues cultural social contribution activities using the group's expertise and infrastructure, centered around 'CJ Donors Camp.' In over 4,000 local children's centers nationwide, they can propose educational programs they need on the Donors Camp website, and donors can choose and support the proposals they like.
'CJ Donors Camp Academy' provides job education linked to employment for young people in vulnerable employment groups and offers employment opportunities within CJ Group and related industries to graduates. Over the past 8 years, 773 young people have completed this course, and 85% of them, or 658 people, have been employed by CJ affiliates, etc.
In addition, the foundation operates 'CJ Donors Camp Cultural Proposal,' which supports cultural experiences, 'CJ Donors Camp Cultural Diversity Education,' which provides education to improve awareness of multiculturalism, and 'CJ Donors Camp Scholarship,' which supports talents in arts, sports, and academics.
Min Hee-kyung, head of CJ Social Contribution Promotion Group, said, “Thanks to the donors, employees, and teachers at local children's centers who sympathized with the foundation's philosophy and participated in activities, we were able to mark this meaningful 20th anniversary.”
