[Financial News] The functional cosmetics (dermocosmetic) brand Dr.G, operated by Gowoon Sesang Cosmetic, has announced the results of its empty bottle collection 'TerraCycle Campaign' that has been ongoing since 2023.
Dr.G announced on the 21st that as a result of conducting the empty bottle collection campaign with TerraCycle over the past 2 years and 6 months, a total of 312kg of empty bottles were collected, reducing 730kg of carbon dioxide emissions. The amount of carbon dioxide emissions reduced by Dr.G is equivalent to the amount absorbed by 110 thirty-year-old pine trees in one year.
Since 2023, Dr.G has been collaborating with the global recycling consulting specialist TerraCycle to collect plastic empty bottles that are discarded despite being recyclable, transforming them into new resources, contributing to resource circulation and carbon reduction.
The number of customers who empathize with and participate in the campaign is steadily increasing. The number of empty bottles collected in the first half of each year has continuously increased from 44 in 2023 to 74 in 2024, and 88 in 2025. It is predicted that the cumulative amount of empty bottles collected from the start of the campaign to the second half of this year will reach 372kg.
Especially this year, the campaign has expanded beyond simple resource recycling to include donations, under the 'Time to Empty and Fill Campaign'. The collected empty bottles will be made into upcycled products and donated to the visually impaired on November 4th, 'Braille Day'. Those interested in participating can apply for the campaign on the Dr.G official mall or the Naver Brand Store Dr.G Lounge, and apply for empty bottle collection on the TerraCycle website.
A representative from Gowoon Sesang Cosmetic stated, "We have continued our journey for a healthy planet with customer participation over the past 3 years," and added, "We will continue to lead in realizing social value beyond environmental protection and strive to create a sustainable society together with our customers."
