[Financial News] Hyundai Motor and Kia have been recognized for their design competitiveness in the global market by presenting differentiated designs that combine practicality.
Hyundai Motor and Kia announced on the 21st that they achieved 11 wins, including 2 Best of the Best Awards and 9 Main Awards, at the '2025 Red Dot Award: Concept Design'. The Red Dot Award is one of the world's top three design awards, selecting excellent designs annually in the categories of product design, brand & communication design, and design concept.
In the concept category announced this time, Hyundai Motor and Kia won the Best of the Best Awards in the fields of autonomous driving and automotive & motorcycle with △City Pod, Urban Pod △PV5 Weekender Concept.
They also won a total of 9 Main Awards through concept designs that show new possibilities.
The Genesis 'X Gran Coupe' and 'X Gran Convertible' won Main Awards in the automotive & motorcycle category with designs that maximize Genesis' design philosophy of 'dynamic elegance'. The Genesis 'X Gran Equator' also won a Main Award. The X Gran Equator, first unveiled last April at the 'Genesis House New York' located in Manhattan, New York, USA, is an electrification-based luxury off-road sports utility vehicle (SUV) concept model that harmonizes contrasting elements to create a refined image.
Kia's △PV1 △PV5 △PV7 concepts won Main Awards with designs optimized for the usage environment. The PV1 concept, a small purpose-based vehicle (PBV), is optimized for short-distance logistics transport. The PV5 concept is characterized by flexible space design that encompasses both passenger and logistics transport, based on the premise of using the vehicle as a mobile workplace. The PV7 concept, a large electric mobility, can accommodate multiple passengers and large cargo, and is designed with practicality and premium service in mind.
The small SUV △EV2 concept unveiled at the 'Kia EV Day' earlier this year, and Hyundai's △Nano Mobility and △Micro Mobility also made it to the list of Main Award winners. Additionally, Hyundai Motor and Kia Robotics Lab's △electric vehicle automatic charging robot service won a Main Award in the service design category. This service is an automated service that starts charging by itself by judging the parking status of the vehicle, allowing users to conveniently monitor the entire charging process in real-time without leaving the vehicle.
A Hyundai Motor and Kia representative stated, "The persistent efforts of our employees towards a sustainable future and the design philosophies of each brand have combined to achieve high results," adding, "We will continue to strive to deliver differentiated mobility experiences to our customers."     one1@fnnews.com Jeong Won-il Reporter
