【Financial News Gwangju=Hwang Taejong Reporter】"Donate to Gwangju Hometown Love and Check on Your Parents."
Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 21st that it will launch two designated fundraising projects to realize welfare care that citizens can feel by utilizing the Hometown Love Donation System.
According to Gwangju City, this project allows donors to directly donate to projects of their choice among those predetermined by the local government, such as the 'Smart Parent Welfare Check Service' and the 'Warm Gwangju Crime Victim Daily Recovery Service'.
Gwangju City plans to conduct fundraising with a goal of 80 million won until December 31.
'Smart Parent Welfare Check Service' is an AI convergence care service that allows donors living in other regions to remotely check the living conditions of their parents residing in their hometown. It monitors parents' daily activities through the use of home appliances such as mobile phones, GPS, and TV, and sends automatic notifications to the donor (guardian) if no activity is detected for a certain period. This service will start in October and will be funded with a total of 50 million won as a designated project of the Hometown Love Donation System.
Gwangju City is also promoting the 'Warm Gwangju Crime Victim Daily Recovery Service', which provides practical help to victims suffering from sudden crime damage. This project supports living expenses, medical expenses, and psychological counseling connection costs, and is operated by raising a total of 30 million won in donations.
Through this, Gwangju City plans to strengthen the public safety net for crime victims and build a more detailed support system for the recovery of victims' lives.
Designated fundraising can be participated in through the 'Hometown Love e-eum' website until December 31.
Park Yoonwon, head of Gwangju City's Autonomous Administration Division, said, "This designated project is not just financial support, but a sharing project that realizes warm care by gathering the hearts of donors," and "We will continue to discover various regional customized care welfare models through the Hometown Love Donation System."
Meanwhile, the Hometown Love Donation System is a system where individuals can donate up to 20 million won to local governments other than their address, and the local government uses it for resident welfare, etc., and provides tax benefits and return gifts (such as restaurant meal vouchers, tourism products) within 30% of the donation amount. Donations up to 100,000 won are fully tax-deductible, and 16.5% is deductible for amounts exceeding 100,000 won.
