[Financial News] AX specialist company LG CNS is partnering with global industrial automation solutions company Honeywell to target the US manufacturing AX (Artificial Intelligence Transformation) market. It is evaluated as the first domestic company to be selected as Honeywell's official AI·IT service partner, establishing a bridgehead for entry into the North American market.
LG CNS CEO Hyun Shin-gyun recently announced on the 21st that he met with key executives, including Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS) President Pramesh Maheshwari, located in Houston, Texas, USA, and agreed to jointly develop manufacturing AX technologies such as AI-based factory automation and intelligence.
Honeywell is a global tech company supplying factory equipment sensors, control devices, and smart solutions in three major business divisions: Industrial Automation (IA), Aerospace, and Energy. Honeywell HPS is an organization within Honeywell's Industrial Automation (IA) business division, supplying products and solutions for manufacturing process automation in industries such as petrochemicals and pharmaceuticals.
This collaboration combines LG CNS's excellent AX consulting and service capabilities with Honeywell's long-accumulated know-how in the sensor and control device production system field. For example, LG CNS's problem-solving AI agent analyzes various production facility data collected by Honeywell's distributed control system in real-time, allowing immediate response from identifying the cause to providing solutions if a problem occurs. The two companies plan to build a 'Manufacturing AX Platform' that enhances the entire production process.
Initially, they will jointly develop a 'Manufacturing Execution System (MES)' applicable to various industries such as semiconductors, batteries, and petrochemicals. MES is a core manufacturing system that optimizes the production process by managing equipment, processes, and personnel in real-time on the production site.
LG CNS plans to apply AI technology to the production process, including production planning, work orders, material in-out, and quality control, to build an integrated MES that manages all stages with a single MES.
Additionally, the two companies will discover new AX businesses based on successful cases in the production and logistics fields from the 'AI 100 in 100 Program' currently being conducted with Korean clients by LG CNS. Representative examples include the 'AI Agent' service, which analyzes factory equipment layout and connection structures with AI to predict and analyze potential risk factors in the production site that humans might easily miss.
The two companies plan to expand manufacturing AX technology to the global market, including the US and Europe, using Honeywell's network, which has more than 100 large customers in the global manufacturing market.
LG CNS CEO Hyun Shin-gyun stated, "This collaboration is the first step in the joint effort of both companies to consider and seek technical solutions for business innovation for US manufacturing customers," and "LG CNS will leverage its top-level AI and smart factory capabilities accumulated over a long period to provide differentiated manufacturing AX solutions to customers."
