[Financial News] The Korea Federation of SMEs has joined hands with KEPCO KDN to support the digital transformation (DX) and artificial intelligence transformation (AX) of SMEs.
The Korea Federation of SMEs announced that it signed a 'Business Agreement for Supporting SME DX·AX' on the 21st in Yeouido, Seoul, with the attendance of Kim Ki-moon, Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs, and Park Sang-hyung, President of KEPCO KDN.
The two organizations plan to conduct a public offering joint project DX·AX support project, and customized consulting for the digital level diagnosis of SME cooperatives to support the DX·AX of SME cooperatives. In addition, to support the sales channels based on 'SaaS' for ICT SMEs, they will promote support for entering the KEPCO KDN open market and using global supply chain solutions for carbon neutrality.
Furthermore, to build an SME data ecosystem, they will provide dedicated spaces for cooperatives and the Korea Federation of SMEs within the KEPCO KDN data center, promote data exchange and combination between the two organizations, and develop policies through joint research.
In particular, KEPCO KDN plans to provide more than 10 billion won in support over the next five years, starting next year, by contributing cash resources along with consulting capabilities and infrastructure for practical support to SMEs.
Chairman Kim Ki-moon said, "While the AI utilization rate of SMEs is 5.3%, that of large companies reaches 48.8%, indicating a severe digital divide between large and small businesses. If SME DX·AX is not implemented promptly, the decline in economic and industrial vitality and weakening of national competitiveness will be inevitable."
He added, "With the contribution from KEPCO KDN, the support amounting to 10 billion won over the next five years will begin, marking a significant opportunity for the digital capabilities of SMEs and cooperatives to grow substantially."
