[Financial News] Woongjin ThinkBig has embarked on a major organizational restructuring to enhance the efficiency of its traditional education business and to actively pursue new digital businesses. Having completed organizational reorganization in the first half, the company plans to focus its capabilities on both traditional and new businesses from the second half.
According to Woongjin ThinkBig on the 21st, the core of this organizational restructuring is the establishment of the position of 'Education Business General Manager' to integrate and manage the main business divisions such as education culture, future education, and online. This is a measure to respond to the rapidly changing market and enhance strategic execution.
Song Ha-bong has been appointed as the first Education Business General Manager. Mr. Song has served as the General Manager of Partners and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Microsoft Korea and is an expert with experience in digital-based sales strategies and AI system construction at global companies.
The digital new business division will also undergo significant restructuring. The existing DX (Digital Transformation) Business Division has been expanded and reorganized into the DGP (Digital Growth Platform) Business Division. The adult education platform 'Udemy', webtoon and web novel businesses under the Single Business Division, etc., have been integrated into DGP, functioning as a dedicated organization for digital and B2B new businesses.
Kim Il-kyung has been appointed as the new DGP Business Division Head. Mr. Kim, who oversaw the Naver Business Strategy Office and the NHN Web Content Marketing Team, is expected to play a leading role in establishing global content strategies and expanding platform businesses.
Woongjin ThinkBig plans to accelerate performance rebound and secure future growth engines through the advancement of AI-based services, expansion of edutech product exports, and new product development.
A Woongjin ThinkBig representative said, "We have completed the organizational restructuring that we have been preparing step by step since last year, laying the foundation to focus more on traditional education and new businesses," adding, "We expect the operational stability following the organizational integration and the effects of performance improvement to gradually become visible."
