Ahead of the launch of the integrated airline, the 'Journey Together' mission unfolds
[Financial News] Korean Air is conducting various social contribution activities with Asiana Airlines under the mission 'Journey Together' ahead of the official launch of the integrated airline this year. Employees of both companies are actively operating various win-win programs that can create synergy with the local community, while also actively engaging in global social contribution activities based on Korean Air's strong global network.
In particular, the activity held in April this year was more meaningful as Asiana Airlines employees and their families participated together. Sixty employees and family members from both companies helped with farm work such as planting pepper seedlings, covering fields with plastic, and cleaning up the village environment during the spring farming season. Professional medical staff from the aviation medical centers of both companies also participated in the volunteer activities.
On Disability Day (April 20), employees from Korean Air's United Shinwoo Association and Asiana Airlines' United Shinwoo Association, totaling 32 and 13 respectively, participated in social contribution activities held at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi-do, and Seoul Grand Park.
They also shared their intentions for the protection of stray dogs. Twenty-eight members of the Korean Air and Asiana Airlines stray dog volunteer group visited a stray dog shelter in Goyang City, where they cleaned kennels, distributed food, and bathed small dogs, working up a sweat together.
They are also operating a win-win program that can create synergy with the local community based on a global network. A representative project is the global planting project to create forests in desertified areas of Mongolia since 2004.
Over 260 new and leading employees of Korean Air and Asiana Airlines visited Baganuur District in Mongolia together to plant trees and help them grow.
In particular, they drew attention by participating in all schedules together. Korean Air employees boarded Asiana Airlines flights, and Asiana Airlines employees boarded Korean Air flights to promote mutual understanding and cooperation.
On June 1, Children's Day in Mongolia, a new playground was installed inside the Korean Air forest, and talent donations were made.
A Korean Air official said, "As a global airline leading the world aviation industry, we will take the lead in various social contributions that spread the culture of sharing in the local community and practice love for neighbors." hoya0222@fnnews.com Kim Dong-ho Reporter
