[Financial News] Lotte Construction announced on the 21st that the 'Floor Impact Sound Blocking Structure Type 2' co-developed with Anos, a company specializing in floor noise cushioning materials, has been recognized with the highest grade, Grade 1 performance, for both heavy and light impact sounds by the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology.
Floor impact noise, which causes inter-floor noise, is classified into heavy and light impact sounds. According to current standards, if the heavy and light impact sounds are 37dB or less, the floor impact sound blocking performance can receive Grade 1.
The floor structure recognized this time is characterized by applying vibration-damping metal coil springs to the floor cushioning material, effectively reducing impact and vibration. This technology innovatively introduces vibration-damping technology, previously used mainly in mechanical and equipment fields, to building floor structures. It is significant in that it drastically reduces noise without additional thickness increase from the standard floor structure thickness of 320㎜ in apartment buildings.
Lotte Construction developed a floor structure applying Styrofoam (EPS) and synthetic rubber (EVA) last year and received Grade 2 and 3 recognition from Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH). With the recognition of this Grade 1 floor impact sound blocking structure, they have secured certificates for Grade 1 to 3 floor impact sound blocking structures.
A company representative said, "We plan to conduct additional verification and analysis so that the recognized floor structure can fully demonstrate its performance in real life," and "We will continue to strive for research and development to provide a better living environment."
