[Financial News] The Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) is actively promoting support projects for the industrial linkage and overseas expansion of Hallyu intellectual property (IP) based on the 'Hallyu Industry Promotion Act' this year.
According to KOCCA on the 21st, the project aims to create new added value and enhance global competitiveness by connecting IP based on K-content with related industries such as food and beverage, fashion, and tourism.
K-Content IP, Expansion through Industry Convergence

KOCCA will actively support four areas this year: △Planning and development support for products utilizing Hallyu IP (autonomous, matching) △B2B distribution support for products utilizing Hallyu IP △Overseas expansion support △Establishment of a business matching foundation for related industries linked to K-content.
In particular, the plan is to strengthen the support system throughout the entire process, from business meetings to prototype production, planning and development, and marketing, so that Hallyu IP owned by small content companies can be organically linked with related industries such as food and beverage, fashion, beauty, and tourism.
Through this, the plan is to discover convergent business models that transcend industry boundaries and create a sustainable growth ecosystem based on K-content.

Expanding Collaboration Opportunities with 'Networking Day', Sharing Achievements

The core program, 'K-Content×Related Industry Business Networking Day', is an exchange event to discover collaboration opportunities between content companies and related industry workers. It was planned to resolve the limitations of high demand for IP-based commercialization in both the content industry and related industries, but practical cooperation was difficult due to mutual lack of understanding and absence of contact points.
The '1st Networking Day' held on June 13 in Myeongdong, Seoul, was attended by about 140 companies, resulting in over 300 one-on-one business meetings, and a conference sharing successful collaboration cases in related industries was also held. On the 17th, through the '2nd Networking Day' held in conjunction with the 'Character Licensing Fair 2025' at COEX in Seoul, practical business linkage achievements were also derived.
KOCCA plans to sequentially hold a total of three networking day events this year and continue to expand the regular exchange foundation between the content industry and related industries.

Full-scale Connection with Overseas Markets, Expanding K-Content's Industrial and Cultural Fusion Competitiveness Worldwide

Meanwhile, KOCCA will actively promote the overseas expansion of Hallyu IP through global fairs and local marketing, such as new events linking business-to-business and business-to-consumer (B2B·B2C) transactions held in the second half of the year at K-Expos (Canada, Spain, United Arab Emirates), New York Comic Con, and Thailand. Through this, the plan is to expand the global fandom and support the creation of substantial achievements for content companies.
Lee Hyun-joo, head of the Content IP Promotion Division at KOCCA, said, “Hallyu content IP is now positioned as a key element that restructures the global industrial ecosystem beyond simple consumer goods,” and added, “KOCCA will continue strategic support to promote industry convergence centered on Hallyu IP, strengthen the global collaboration foundation, and create a sustainable K-content industry ecosystem, so that Korea can become the center of global collaboration in the content industry.”
