【Financial News Incheon=Han Gap-soo Reporter】 Incheon City has begun full-scale preparations for the 75th Anniversary Incheon Landing Operation Commemoration Week event to be held in September.
Incheon City announced on the 20th that it has intensified preparations for the commemorative event by holding a progress report meeting on the Incheon Landing Operation Commemoration Week event with members of the Citizens' Promotion Council at Incheon City Hall on the 18th.
This year's Incheon Landing Operation Commemoration Week will be held for 7 days from September 12 to 18, featuring a variety of programs such as a commemorative ceremony, reenactment event, street parade and festival, International Peace and Security Forum Incheon, Palmi-do sailing experience, UNI Peace Camp for international students from 22 UN member countries, patriotic music concert, special film festival, and peace drawing contest.
In particular, this 75th anniversary is significant as it is the first year of a five-year international event where veterans can participate, emphasizing deep gratitude and respect for their dedication and sacrifice. It will be promoted as a national event by co-hosting with government departments such as the Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, and Ministry of Unification.
Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok said, “This year's 75th Anniversary Incheon Landing Operation Commemoration Event is an important international event that informs the world of the values of peace and sacrifice by Incheon and Korea, and I ask for the public's generous interest and cooperation.”
