KOTRA Launches AI Committee... Opening the Era of $1 Trillion Exports with AI

[Financial News]  The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced on the 20th that it will establish the 'KOTRA AI Committee' on the 21st to enhance the export support system using artificial intelligence (AI) and globally spread the national AI ecosystem.
In addition, KOTRA has composed 3 major strategies and 11 detailed tasks with the vision of becoming the 'Leading Institution for AI Transformation in Korea's Trade and Investment'. The strategies include △Improvement of AI-based export support system △Support for globalization of the national AI ecosystem △Expansion of AI utilization by the agency.
To improve the AI-based export support system, the introduction of an AI export secretary, AI-based digital trade support projects, and infrastructure expansion will be promoted. The AI export secretary will serve as an interactive integrated service window to resolve corporate requests and support information acquisition, decision-making, and marketing execution.
Regarding support for the globalization of the national AI ecosystem, KOTRA will support 'expansion of overseas presence' and 'strengthening of AI industry competitiveness' simultaneously.
To expand overseas presence, △Strengthening support for overseas expansion of the AI industry △Expanding export support for AI-related fields centered on K-Grid △Promoting global AI innovation flagship projects will be pursued. To strengthen AI industry competitiveness, △Global AI trend research and dissemination △Attracting investment from overseas AI companies △Attracting overseas AI talent will be promoted.
Finally, to expand the agency's AI utilization, △Improving work methods using AI △Enhancing work productivity through the use of domestic AI solutions △Promoting AI literacy (reading ability) enhancement education will be pursued.
Kang Kyung-seong, President of KOTRA, stated, "The more the giant plate like AI transformation shakes, the more opportunities arise," adding, "KOTRA will make every effort to advance the era of $1 trillion exports and the leap to the top 3 AI powerhouses through the improvement of the AI-based export support system and support for the globalization of the national AI ecosystem."
