Lim Jong-ryong, Chairman of Woori Financial Group, said this in a CEO message at the '2025 Second Half Group Management Strategy Workshop' held at the headquarters in Hoehyeon-dong, Seoul, on the 18th, emphasizing that "each subsidiary must have competitiveness in its main business while creating synergy through organic collaboration."
Chairman Lim emphasized, "Let's accelerate the execution of company-wide artificial intelligence transformation (AX) and show the true strength as a leading financial group," adding, "AI is no longer just a tool, but a partner to work with. Those who understand and utilize AI properly are the core talents of the future."
He continued, "We will actively support the development of AX talents at the group level," and urged, "In the second half of this year, let's implement three key tasks: AX promotion, internal control innovation, and group synergy execution to leap forward as a leading financial group."
At this workshop, Woori Financial declared this year as the 'first year of AX'. Having completed the comprehensive financial group system, they shared the group synergy plan and announced that all affiliates and related companies would promote AX.
To this end, they had a special AI lecture by Professor Lee Jae-jin of Seoul National University and a presentation of the holding company's AX strategy. Professor Lee emphasized the need to proactively introduce the AX system in response to the advent of the AI era, highlighting talent development and securing quality learning data. Ok Il-jin, Head of Digital Innovation at Woori Financial, shared the AX status and strategic direction and detailed the AX promotion plan.
