'Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 Equipped' Xiaomi 16 Likely to Launch in September [1st IT Item]

Xiaomi is expected to launch the first smartphone equipped with Qualcomm's next-generation mobile application processor (AP) 'Snapdragon 8 Elite 2', the 'Xiaomi 16', in China this coming September. 
On the 19th (local time), Chinese IT media MyDrivers reported that Chinese IT tipster Digital Chat Station mentioned on his Weibo, "Currently, the only model equipped with Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 scheduled to be released in September," quoting this statement.
Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is the successor to Snapdragon 8 Elite and is known to be manufactured based on TSMC's 3rd generation 3nm (nanometer·one billionth of a meter) process. It is expected to introduce the second generation of its self-developed Orion central processing unit (CPU) and increase the standalone graphics processing unit (GPU) cache capacity from the existing 12MB to 16MB. 
Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is reported to have scored in the 4000s for single-core and 11,000s for multi-core on the benchmark (performance test) site Geekbench 6. Considering that the existing Snapdragon 8 Elite scored around 3100 for single-core and 9800 for multi-core, the single-core performance is expected to improve by about 30%. 
Xiaomi, although recently developed its own AP 'XuanjieO1', is expected to use Qualcomm products for its flagship product lineup 'Xiaomi 16' as it cannot produce in large quantities and does not match the performance of Qualcomm chips.
However, it is expected to take some time for Xiaomi 16 to be released in Korea. Typically, Xiaomi releases products in China first and then launches them in the global market a month or two later. Especially, Xiaomi has only included Korea in the first global release countries for the recently introduced 'Xiaomi Smart Band 10', and has not quickly released other products in the Korean market.
