Kim Min-jae, head of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, instructed emergency response measures related to the landslide damage site, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced. Kim emphasized, "In the landslide-affected areas, deploy all available personnel and equipment to carry out rescue operations and focus all efforts on rapid emergency recovery."
In particular, he instructed, "In vulnerable areas nationwide where landslide risks are expected, immediately control access and evacuate residents to safe places in advance," and "ensure thorough safety management for disaster response personnel working on-site."
On this day, in Sancheong-eup, Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam, consecutive landslides occurred in Buri Village and Naeri Village, resulting in 3 residents being buried in soil and missing, and 2 people dying in the disaster.
The Fire Department issued a national fire mobilization order at 1 PM to the landslide site in Sancheong-gun, mobilizing nationwide firepower for rescue operations.
The national fire mobilization order is an emergency system that urgently deploys fire personnel and equipment nationwide when it is impossible to respond with the firepower of the affected area alone in a large-scale disaster situation.
