4 Seriously Injured in Gwangmyeong Apartment Fire Still in Coma... Life at Risk

The Gwangmyeong Police Station announced that among the 9 seriously injured from the fire that occurred on the night of the 17th, 4 are still unconscious and receiving treatment. They are in a critical condition with severe respiratory damage due to smoke inhalation along with full-body burns, and some are known to be in a very dangerous state.
On the other hand, a significant number of the 55 people with minor injuries have completed treatment and been discharged. The police are calling in witnesses of the fire as references to understand the circumstances of the accident. They are also receiving statements detailing the damage from those who have been discharged.
The National Forensic Service, fire authorities, and police conducted a joint inspection at the fire scene on the morning of the 18th. The National Forensic Service is conducting a detailed analysis of various pieces of evidence collected at the scene.
This fire started at around 9:10 PM on the 17th in the piloti parking lot on the first floor of a 10-story apartment (45 households, 116 residents) in Sohadong, Gwangmyeong City. The accident resulted in 3 deaths, 9 serious injuries, and 55 people injured due to smoke inhalation, etc.
The residents who lost their homes are living in temporary shelters within the Gwangmyeong Citizen Sports Center, friends' houses, and accommodations. Currently, 21 households and about 50 people are staying at the shelter.
Gwangmyeong City is considering providing temporary housing operated by the city as a temporary residence until the residents return to their original homes. They plan to secure additional temporary residences in cooperation with the Korea Land and Housing Corporation.
To prevent theft at the accident site, they are also installing safety fences and CCTV.
