Sancheong Burim Village, Landslide Buries Houses... 1 Dead, 2 Missing

According to Gyeongnam Province and the fire authorities on the 19th, around 10 a.m. that day, soil from heavy rain poured into Burim Village, Sancheong-eup, Sancheong-gun.
The soil that flowed into the village completely buried two houses, and three people, a man in his 20s and an elderly couple in their 70s, were buried inside.
The fire brigade, which rushed to the scene upon receiving a resident's report, conducted a search operation and confirmed the death of one of the buried individuals. Rescue operations are still ongoing for the remaining two.
Sancheong County Office sent an emergency disaster message at 1:50 p.m. to all residents in the area, stating, 'All residents should evacuate to a safe area immediately.'
The Gyeongnam Fire Department has issued a disaster response level 2 and is focusing all efforts on responding to flood damage and landslides. Level 2 response is a serious alert stage where 51 to 80 pieces of equipment are deployed from 8 to 14 fire stations in the province.
Currently, reports of soil collapse and flood damage due to heavy rain are continuously being received in various parts of Sancheong.
The fire authorities are prioritizing resident evacuation and life-saving by deploying all available firefighting resources.
