Ulsan Taehwa River Water Level Rises, National Garden Flooded.. 281mm Poured in Duseo-myeon

【Financial News Ulsan=Choi Su-sang Reporter】Due to heavy rain overnight, the water level of the Taehwa River in Ulsan rose significantly, flooding the Taehwa River National Garden and park golf course facilities on the embankment.
As flood warnings were issued for major rivers in the area such as Taehwa River and Dongcheon, residents in some areas are being advised to evacuate. Two passengers were rescued after being isolated in a vehicle by the rising water.
Since the previous day, Samdong-myeon in Ulju-gun recorded 182mm, Duseo-myeon in Ulju-gun 166mm, and Maegok-dong in Buk-gu 122mm of rain.
Since the 17th, the recorded rainfall was 281.5mm in Duseo-myeon, 229mm in Samdong-myeon, and 141mm in Maegok-dong, with an overall record of 130mm in Ulsan.
Due to this rain, the river water rose significantly, and from 6 a.m. that day, flood warnings and advisories were successively issued for Saeyeon Bridge, Taehwa Bridge, and Byeongyeong Bridge on the Taehwa River.

Due to the swollen river, passage along the Taehwa River banks, walking paths, and bicycle roads is completely prohibited, and the lower roads of Taehwa Bridge and Byeonyeong Bridge are also under control.
At least 13 places are under control, including the entrance road to Seoulsan IC in Ulju-gun, the road in front of Jungri Village in Seosari, the underpass in Bancheon-eup, Eonyang-eup, the lower ramp of Daun 3 Bridge in Jung-gu, the lower road of Samho Bridge in Nam-gu, Soksimi Bridge in Buk-gu, and Jejeon Bridge.
In the area around Bancheon-ri, Eonyang-eup, Ulju-gun, some roads are completely submerged, covering the roofs of parked vehicles. The Seosa Jungri road in Ulju-gun and the area in front of Geun Tonghwa Village Apartments in Daun-dong, Jung-gu, were also flooded.
Residents of 150 households in the three villages of Wangbang, Sachon, and Hajam in Samdong-myeon, upstream of Daam Dam, evacuated to community centers and have now returned.
In Ulsan, up to 150mm more rain is forecasted to fall by the afternoon of that day.
