[Financial News] The public, private, and academic sectors are working to resolve the confusion in the educational field regarding the introduction of AI digital textbooks (AIDT) and to explore the direction of future education policies.
The National Assembly's Education Committee, the People Power Party's Policy Committee, and the Korea Textbook Association announced on the 18th that they jointly held a 'Policy Meeting on Future Education Innovation Based on AI Education' at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul.
The meeting was held to discuss edutech application plans centered on AI digital textbooks and future education innovation strategies. It also discussed enhancing professional awareness of digital education policies and establishing a governance system among the public, private, and academic sectors for public policy implementation.
The event was attended by lawmakers such as Song Eon-seok, Seo Ji-young, Kim Dae-sik, Kim Yong-tae, Lee Dae-young, chairman of the Korea Textbook Association, field teachers, edutech industry officials, and about 100 others.
Amid ongoing controversies over the legal status and operational methods surrounding AI digital textbook policies, this meeting is expected to provide alternatives such as ensuring policy continuity, field-centered design, and platform unification to prevent redundant investments.
A representative from Cheonjae Textbook said, "We shared a long-term and sustainable AI digital education policy direction based on a professional understanding of the applicability of AI technology," and "It is expected to be the first step in cooperation to create a policy environment that students, teachers, and parents can trust."
