[Financial News] Hyundai Construction announced on the 18th that its provisional consolidated results for the first half of this year recorded sales of 15.1763 trillion won and an operating profit of 430.7 billion won, an increase of 8.2% compared to the same period last year.
First half orders amounted to 16.7344 trillion won, achieving 53.7% of the annual order target (31.1 trillion won). The strategy focusing on high-value projects such as the Gaepo Jugong 6·7 Complex Reconstruction, Busan Beomcheon 4 District Redevelopment, and Timbuktu Data Center was effective. The order backlog stands at 94.7613 trillion won, securing approximately 3.1 years' worth of work.
Sales decreased by 11.6% compared to the same period last year, but operating profit improved as major high-profit processes began in earnest. Domestic major projects such as the Ulsan S-Oil Shaheen Project, Hillstate The Unjeong, and The H Clast, along with overseas sites like the Saudi Amiral PKG4 and Panama Metro Line 3, supported the performance through process stabilization. 49.9% of the annual sales target of 30.4 trillion won was achieved in the first half.
Financial soundness was also strengthened. The debt ratio fell by 11.4%p to 167.9% compared to the previous year, and the current ratio rose by 1.4%p to 145.3%. Cash assets amount to 3.541 trillion won, and the company's credit rating remains at AA-.
A Hyundai Construction representative said, “We will lay the foundation for innovation in sustainable energy fields such as large-scale nuclear power plants and solar power based on our technical capabilities and construction performance,” adding, “We will also continue to explore new projects that can transcend the existing construction industry, such as data centers and offshore wind power.”
