【Financial News Ulsan=Choi Su-sang Reporter】 The Ulsan Police Agency is launching a high-intensity summer drunk driving crackdown.
According to the Ulsan Police Agency on the 18th, there have been a total of 13 deaths due to drunk driving in the Ulsan area over the past 3 years. Among them, 5 people (38.5%) died in July-August.
Accordingly, the Ulsan Police Agency will strengthen drunk driving crackdowns for 6 weeks until August 24, the peak summer season.
In particular, every Friday, all police stations nationwide will conduct simultaneous crackdowns.
Additionally, Wednesday and Saturday are designated as 'focused crackdown days' with maximum deployment of traffic and mobile units for intensive crackdowns.
Key summer resorts and tourist attractions in the Ulsan area, such as Jinha and Ilsan Beach, Daewangam Park, and frequent drunk driving zones (Myeongchon Bridge, Beonyeong Bridge, Taehwa Rotary) will be the focus of the crackdown.
Jung Sang-jin, Chief of the Ulsan Police Agency, said, "Drunk driving is a serious crime that threatens the lives of others," and urged, "I hope all citizens will be vigilant and create a safe traffic culture."
