Naver Applies AI Image Filter to Place Detail Page

[Financial News] Naver announced on the 18th that it will introduce a new image filter incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) on the place detail page.
The image filter functions to classify and display images related to the detailed theme of a place, utilizing AI technology to enable more accurate and detailed searches.
Custom filters reflecting information frequently sought by users are applied according to the business type of the place.
For restaurants, sub-filters such as 'Food & Drink', 'Menu', 'Scenery' are applied, while for accommodations, themes like 'Rooms', 'View', 'Swimming Pool' are used. In the case of beauty salons, AI classifies and provides images according to themes such as 'Cut', 'Perm', 'Dye', 'Men'. 
Naver explained that compared to the existing method of classifying images with the same filter for all business types, users can now explore the desired information in a more intuitive way.
Additionally, in the newly updated filter, AI analyzes the characteristics of images and provides suitable images by theme. Through this, users can prioritize high-quality images closely related to the business among various contents related to the place.
Choi Ji-hoon, Naver Place Search & Content General Leader, said, "AI has improved the accuracy of image classification by learning various themes provided according to the business type," adding, "In the future, we will continue to integrate AI technology throughout the service to provide a more advanced place search experience."
