Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor, 'Geonjin Beopsa Gate' Unification Church and Kwon Seong-dong Search and Seizure... Investigation Speed [Comprehensive]

[Financial News] The Kim Geon-hee special prosecutor team (Min Jung-gi special prosecutor) is conducting a search and seizure of the Unification Church and Kwon Seong-dong of the People Power Party for the 'Geonjin Beopsa Gate' investigation.
The Kim Geon-hee special prosecutor team is sending prosecutors and investigators to more than 10 locations, including the Unification Church headquarters in Seorak-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province, and the Seoul headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, to secure document materials and PC files.
The search and seizure targets reportedly include the residence 'Cheonjeonggung' of Hak Ja Han, the president of the Unification Church, and the home of a former world headquarters director of the Unification Church, who is implicated in the solicitation allegations involving Kim Geon-hee.
The special prosecutor team plans to look into the solicitation allegations surrounding Jeon Seong-bae, the Unification Church, and Mrs. Kim based on this search and seizure.
Mr. Jeon is suspected of receiving a diamond necklace and Chanel bag as gifts for Mrs. Kim from Mr. Yoon around April to August 2022, and delivering them to Mrs. Kim. Mr. Jeon claimed in a pre-special prosecutor investigation by the prosecution that he received the items but lost them all. The solicitation content reportedly included △support for the Unification Church's Mekong River development project in Cambodia △acquisition of YTN by the Unification Church △hosting the UN (United Nations) 5th Secretariat in Korea △invitation to the presidential inauguration.
The special prosecutor conducted a search and seizure of Mr. Jeon's temple on the 15th. During the previous search and seizure, the special prosecutor team reportedly discovered a room on the first basement and second floor, known as a secret room, and secured related closed-circuit (CC) TV.
Additionally, the special prosecutor team plans to look into the suspicion of covering up the overseas gambling investigation of the Unification Church leadership. The special prosecutor team conducted a search and seizure of the National Police Agency on the 8th in relation to this. The suspicion involves high-ranking officials of the Unification Church, including President Hak Jae, who were investigated by the police for gambling in the United States, but the investigation was allegedly covered up through Geonjin Beopsa.
Furthermore, the special prosecutor team is conducting a search and seizure of Assemblyman Kwon's office on this day. Investigators are being dispatched to Assemblyman Kwon's office at the National Assembly Members' Office Building in Yeouido and his regional office in Gangneung for a search and seizure attempt. Assemblyman Kwon is known to have led the attendance of then-presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol at an event related to the Unification Church on February 13, 2022, and Yoon, the former headquarters director, is the opening announcer and co-executive chairman of the event. Assemblyman Kwon is known to have personally delivered a congratulatory speech at an event organized by the foundation established by the former headquarters director, and Assemblymen Na Kyung-won and Yoon Sang-hyun are also known to have sent congratulatory messages. The special prosecutor is looking into whether Assemblyman Kwon might have acted as a bridge between former President Yoon and the former headquarters director.
