【Financial News Incheon=Han Gapsu Reporter】 The National Museum of World Writing announced on the 18th that the number of visitors to the museum exceeded 500,000 in the first half of the year.
The total number of visitors to the museum in the first half of the year was counted as 521,521.
The National Museum of World Writing is planning a special exhibition to commemorate the 140th anniversary of Korea-Italy diplomatic relations in the second half of the year and is also planning various cultural events, expecting to achieve 1 million annual visitors for two consecutive years.
In the past first half, the special exhibition 'Imagine, the World Created by Gustave Doré' received great attention and is currently on display.
In collaboration with the French Museum of Drawing and Printmaking, and the Museum of Printing and Graphic Communication, it introduced numerous original illustrations and plates such as 'Puss in Boots' and 'Cinderella' for the first time in the country.
Additionally, various educational programs linked to the exhibition received high satisfaction from visitors. Educational programs utilizing exhibition materials on world scripts such as Hangul, Latin script, and Egyptian script were operated.
The National Museum of World Writing, along with various external programs, has also been working on strengthening internal capabilities to establish a sustainable operational foundation. It has been steadily pursuing the collection of designated cultural heritage-level materials by securing important materials for ancient Korean language research, such as the mid-edition of 'Samguk Yusa Volume 2' published in 1512 and the preface by the great monk Hakjo. Furthermore, efforts are being made to build an archive service system to enhance the public disclosure and usability of museum materials.
A representative of the National Museum of World Writing stated, “In the second half of the year, we will strive for broader communication and participation.”
