[Financial News] This summer, Lotte Entertainment's tentpole film 'Jeonjok Dokja Sijeom' and Marvel's new release 'Fantastic 4' will be showcased in special technology theaters.
On the 18th, CJ CGV announced that Jeonjok Dokja Sijeom, Fantastic 4, and 'Bad Guys' will be screened in formats exclusive to special technology theaters such as ScreenX, 4DX, Ultra 4DX, IMAX, and Dolby Atmos, providing an immersive viewing experience that can only be enjoyed in theaters.
Opening on the 23rd, ‘Jeonjok Dokja Sijeom’ is a fantasy action film based on the global mega-hit of the same name. At CGV, it will be screened in 4DX, IMAX, and Dolby Atmos. In 4DX, game elements such as systems and players are implemented through motion chairs and environmental effects, offering a vivid immersive experience as if the audience becomes the protagonist 'Kim Dokja' in the story. Moreover, the signature skills of each character in the movie are intricately expressed with 4DX technology, allowing the unique action and narrative of ‘Jeonjok Dokja Sijeom’ to be fully experienced. The overwhelming screen size and clear picture quality of IMAX, along with the three-dimensional sound of Dolby Atmos, deliver the world within the movie even more vividly.
'Fantastic 4' also screened in all formats of special technology theaters
The Marvel new release ‘Fantastic 4: New Start’, opening on the 24th, will be screened in all formats of CGV's special technology theaters, including ScreenX, 4DX, Ultra 4DX, IMAX, and Dolby Atmos. In ScreenX, spectacular action traversing the ground and space unfolds on three screens. 4DX vividly conveys Mr. Fantastic's elastic movements, Invisible Woman's telekinesis, Human Torch's fiery flight, and The Thing's weighty action. In IMAX and Dolby Atmos, the visual and sound are maximized to realistically feel Marvel's new universe.
Opening on the 30th, DreamWorks Animation's ‘Bad Guys 2’ will be screened in ScreenX. The expanded background to space and fast-paced action unfold on three screens, enhancing visual pleasure, and the 2D cartoon-style visuals extend to the ScreenX wings, adding visual enjoyment.
CGV will also offer limited edition poster goods to customers of special technology theaters on a first-come, first-served basis.
Jeon Jeong-hyeon, head of content operations at CGV, said, “We hope you enjoy the enhanced fun of movies with an immersive experience that can only be had in theaters.”
