【Financial News Daegu=Kim Jangwook Reporter】 Yeungnam University of Technology is focusing all efforts on achieving employment goals by department.
Yeungnam University of Technology announced on the 18th that it successfully held the '2025 Department Employment Meeting' at the Cheonma Square Lecture Hall on the afternoon of the 17th.
This meeting was organized to discuss practical and effective support measures to improve employment rates by department and field, and to actively respond to changes in the employment environment faced by the university.
The meeting was attended by key figures related to employment both inside and outside the university, including President Lee Jaeyong, employment-dedicated professors for each department (field), the University Job Plus Center, the Employment Support Office, the Corporate Talent Development Support Group, and the Youth-Enterprise Employment Matching Center.
President Lee emphasized, "To enhance the university's competitiveness during the 2030 golden time, achieving the target employment rate based on 100% admission has become the core of the university's sustainable growth," adding, "We will build a customized employment system for both current students and graduates, discover excellent local SMEs, expand course evaluation-based qualification courses, and strengthen Korean language education for international students to increase employment rates."
The meeting covered major agenda items such as △employment status by department △measures to achieve target employment rates △current status of customized employment support program operations △management plans for unemployed graduates △plans to discover excellent employment destinations △measures to enhance employment rates through course evaluation-based curricula.
Yeungnam University of Technology closely examined the employment status by department through this meeting and concretized practical response measures to achieve target employment rates.
In particular, the university established various employment support strategies, including continuous management and support for unemployed graduates, customized student guidance through the employment-dedicated professor system, and strengthening practical skills through the expansion of course evaluation-based curricula.
Employment-dedicated professors from each department who attended the meeting emphasized the need for △discovering promising employment fields and companies △expanding field practice and internship opportunities △developing customized education programs to strengthen student employment capabilities, pledging active roles at the department level.
Meanwhile, Yeungnam University of Technology has been recognized as a vocational education-centered university by being selected for various government-funded support projects for building the nation's top department competitiveness and employment system, work-study parallelism, and co-prosperity with local governments.
Additionally, it has proven to be the 'top class' representing domestic junior colleges by being selected as the national No.1 in the junior college sector of the National Customer Satisfaction Index (NCSI) for 11 consecutive years.
