2nd Renovation Support Conference Held at Busan WSCE
[Financial News] Korea Land and Geospatial InformatiX Corporation (LX Corporation) held the '2nd Aging Planned City Renovation Support Conference' at the '2025 World Smart City Expo (WSCE)' at BEXCO, Busan, on the 17th, sharing plans to integrate spatial information technology into renovation planning.
This conference was attended by over 60 participants, including the Urban Renovation Planning Division of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, local government officials, urban planning professors, and spatial information experts. Participants shared utilization plans and real cases of the Aging Planned City Renovation Platform and continued discussions and presentations on the potential linkage between spatial information-based renovation projects and smart cities.
The first presenter, Professor Nam Kwang-woo of Kyungsung University's Department of Urban Planning, presented on the topic of 'Major Transition of Aging Planned Cities to Smart Cities', suggesting the direction and future tasks for introducing smart city technology in aging planned city renovation. Following this, Kang Hyun-young, Busan City Urban Renovation Manager, shared the process of establishing the 'Basic Plan for Aging Planned City Renovation', which is being proactively pursued among local governments outside the metropolitan area.
The final presentation was given by Dr. Choi Hoon-ho of LX Corporation, who introduced actual cases of the Aging Planned City Renovation Platform applied in the planning process. He also suggested supporting 3D perspectives and digital certification procedures in candidate sites such as Hwamyeong-Geumgok District and Haeundae District, which are leading renovation districts in Busan.
Lee Myung-sik, Director of Spatial Information at LX Corporation, stated, "This conference was prepared to allow the public to feel the effects of renovation policies utilizing spatial information," and added, "LX Corporation will continue to closely cooperate with the government and local governments to support the promotion of aging planned city renovation policies through the platform."
