[Financial News] Ssangyong C&E practiced ESG-based win-win management by purchasing corn produced by farms in the Donghae and Yeongwol regions and donating it to vulnerable groups in Seoul.
Ssangyong C&E announced on the 17th that the corn harvested directly by Donghae plant employees was delivered to welfare institutions such as Seoul Namsanwon and food markets.
This activity aims to secure a stable sales channel for local agricultural products, increase farm income, revitalize the local economy, and support the dietary improvement of vulnerable groups in the welfare blind spots of downtown Seoul.
Ssangyong C&E purchases corn from farms in the Gangwon Donghae and Yeongwol regions every year and donates it to social welfare facilities. The domestically produced corn donated this time is popular as a representative summer snack due to its high sweetness, and it is a high-demand item for food banks.
They plan to proceed with additional purchases and gradually expand the scope of donations depending on the harvest time and quality. A representative from Ssangyong C&E said, “This donation is a case of realizing both coexistence with local farms and practical welfare support,” adding, “We will continue to promote various programs that can grow with the local community based on the ESG management philosophy.”
