[Financial News]"We will service video comprehension AI technology and AI technology that converts text to video within the year, and also introduce an XR-based platform."
Naver plans to unveil its artificial intelligence (AI) technology that converts all text on its platform into video within this year. Video comprehension technology, which quickly understands and summarizes long videos, will also be introduced within the year. Kim Seong-ho, leader of Naver's Immersive Media Platform, disclosed Naver's AI technology and service plans at the 'Immersive Media Tech Forum' held at Naver's Green Factory in Seongnam City, Gyeonggi Province, on the afternoon of the 16th.
On this day, Naver introduced the virtual content specialized studio 'Vision Stage' and the 3D content production studio 'Motion Stage'. Vision Stage provides surreal virtual backgrounds tailored to various themes, while the Motion Stage studio, which produces 3D content, allows for real-time broadcasting by giving characters movement and mixing virtual backgrounds. Utilizing both studios allows for free production of commerce, short videos (short-form), dramas, and films.
Naver applies artificial intelligence (AI) technology to the media ecosystem according to its 'On Service AI Strategy'. Naver plans to integrate the vast amount of data accumulated through its services into the ecosystem and enhance content such as Naver Live Commerce and Chijijik. Within the year, it will also introduce a platform based on Google's extended reality (XR) operating system (OS) 'Android XR', aiming to expand into XR content.
To this end, Naver plans to expand and introduce the video comprehension AI technology 'MUAi' platform within the year. This technology segments chapters of a video and provides explanations. In addition, 'AutoClipAi', which automatically converts text content into video, will also be unveiled. It is a technology that understands and summarizes the context of content such as blogs and automatically generates videos optimized for short-form. Blog creators can easily produce short videos (short-form) and expand their activity areas based on clips.
Naver plans to proactively enter the market by creating an XR platform utilizing content such as K-POP and games provided on platforms like Chijijik. XR refers to technology encompassing augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), and virtual reality (VR). In particular, Naver's XR platform is expected to be installed on Samsung Electronics' device 'Project Infinite', which is being developed in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm. Leader Kim stated, "Through the advancement of the Vision AI creation technologies introduced this time, we will lead the activation of creation in Naver's major service areas and develop related content and platforms to provide users with vivid media experiences that transcend online and offline."
