Naver Webtoon and Munpia Announce '2025 World's Largest Web Novel Contest' Grand Prize

[Financial News] Naver Webtoon announced on the 17th that the fantasy genre web novel 'Wizard of the Deep Sea' written by the author Sanghan Gimbap was selected as the grand prize winner in the '2025 World's Largest Web Novel Contest' co-hosted with Munpia.
According to Naver Webtoon, the contest received submissions of about 8,000 works, making it the largest in the industry.
The Excellence Award went to three works: 'The Immortal of the Prisoner Unit is Misunderstood' by the author Puldeuro, 'Am I the Only One Who Doesn't Know I'm a Soccer Genius' by the author Sijagui Bada, and 'Everything is Easy for the Regressed Anesthesiologist' by the author Jamong Lime. Ten works received the Merit Award, and twenty works received the Special Selection Award.
All award-winning works will be pre-released on Munpia and then serialized on Naver Series.
Additionally, the grand prize and excellence award-winning works will be produced as webtoons and officially serialized on Naver Webtoon. Contest submissions can be freely converted to paid content from the end of the submission period.
Park Je-yeon, the lead of Naver Web Novel, said, "Various works discovered by Munpia and Naver Web Novel, such as 'The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate House' and 'Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint', have been produced into webtoons, movies, and dramas, proving the potential of intellectual property (IP)." He added, "We will actively support the award-winning works to meet more readers and expand profits through serialization on Naver Series and webtoon adaptation."
