[Financial News] SSG Casa announced on the 17th that the eco-friendly sleep brand 'Materasso' has launched its first high-priced mattress in the 10 million won range.
This mattress collection 'Materasso Heritage' was launched to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the Materasso brand. Since 2021, Materasso has been operated as part of the Casamia mattress series and expanded to a sleep-specialized brand in July 2023.
Through the Heritage Collection, Materasso aims to enhance its competitiveness in the rapidly growing domestic premium bed and mattress market and elevate its brand presence to the next level.
The core element of the Heritage mattress, which determines support, is the 'Calico Cotton Pocket Spring' from the global steel coil manufacturer 'Leggett & Platt', used for the first time in Korea.
The Calico Cotton Pocket Spring is characterized by its independent structure, where each spring is wrapped in 100% cotton without dyeing or bleaching and connected manually. It reduces friction noise and static electricity between springs while adding breathability and humidity control functions.
The Heritage Collection fills these premium springs 1.7 times more than the existing Forest Collection to absorb body movements precisely. It is designed not to suppress shaking but to quietly distribute the flow of weight, inducing sound sleep.
Another strength is the use of the finest natural material 'Horsehair', which was used in 19th-century European royal beds. Horsehair has a hollow structure like a straw, helping air flow and quickly dissipating moisture and heat generated during sleep.
The surface fabric uses 'Viscose', a blend of luxurious materials like silk and cashmere. The softness and warmth of silk, the cozy feel of cashmere, and the excellent moisture absorption and flexibility of viscose provide a delicate and comfortable sleep experience all year round.
Additionally, various natural materials such as 'Organic Cotton' grown on land without pesticides for over three years, 'Wool & Alpaca' with excellent temperature and humidity control functions, and 100% silk pads are arranged in multiple layers according to their purpose.
An SSG Casa representative said, "Materasso plans to diversify its product portfolio by considering various factors to improve sleep quality and target the segmented sleep demand more precisely."
