[Financial News] To commemorate the 80th anniversary of liberation, the 'Liberation 80 Korea Memorial Road in Seoul' event, which involves walking along the memorial paths of independence movement historic sites nationwide, will be held.
According to the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs on the 17th, this event will be held from the 19th of this month to the 8th of next month, a total of 9 times, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 19:00 to 21:00, in collaboration with the Seoul Metropolitan Branch of the Liberation Association, and will be composed and conducted in 3 courses around Jongno-gu and Jung-gu.
The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs explained that the 3 courses are given meaning to honor the noble spirit of female independence activist Choi Eun-hee, who was awarded the Order of Merit for National Foundation in 1992, poet Yun Dong-ju, who was awarded the Order of Merit for National Foundation in 1990, and Homer Hulbert, who was awarded the Order of Merit for National Foundation in 1950.
Course 1 is themed 'Women Who Stood Up for Independence and Resistance', Course 2 is themed 'Following Yun Dong-ju, Counting the Stars at Night', and Course 3 is themed 'Hello, Hulbert Goodnight, Jeongdong', with each course consisting of visits to major independence movement historic sites such as the former site of Kyungsung Girls' High School (Constitutional Court), Yun Dong-ju's boarding house and Yun Dong-ju Poet's Hill, and the U.S. Legation and Baejae Hakdang.
This event is the third event of the 'Korea Memorial Road', starting with the launch event at Baekbeom Square in Namsan, Seoul in March, and a walking event was also held in Jung-gu, Daegu earlier this month.
Naziman, Director of the Veterans Culture Policy Department of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, expressed hope that through the walking event of independence movement historic sites held to commemorate the 80th anniversary of liberation, participants can feel the spirit of independence and the meaning of liberation of the ancestors who sacrificed and devoted their lives for the liberation of the country, and stated that the 'Korea Memorial Road' walking event will be continuously promoted.
In this independence movement historic site walking event, on-site registrants can also participate in addition to pre-registered participants. Participants will be given Korea Memorial Road T-shirts, bags, and other goods, along with a Bobo Passport (visitor passport) certifying the completion of the road.
Before the tour, various events and programs related to the Seoul Summer Beach (7.19.~8.8.), the representative water play festival of Seoul, can be experienced at Gwanghwamun Square.
The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs plans to hold road tour events linked with festivals and other events in major regions nationwide until the end of the year to commemorate the 80th anniversary of liberation. Detailed information about the event can be found on the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs 'Korea Memorial Road' website.
