[Financial News] The lower road of Jeungsan Bridge in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, was closed to vehicle traffic due to heavy rain at around 6:53 a.m. on the 17th.

The Seoul Traffic Information Center TOPIS announced that the lower road from Jeungsan Bridge to Jungam Bridge is blocked due to heavy rain and advised using alternative routes.

At around 6:43 a.m., when a flood warning was issued in Seongbuk-gu, a companion partner was dispatched to the scene. The companion partner is tasked with supporting the emergency evacuation of residents in flood-prone areas, such as those living in basements or semi-basements.

Since 5 p.m. the previous day, a heavy rain warning has been in effect across Seoul, blocking access to 29 streams in the city, including Cheonggyecheon and Anyangcheon.

To respond to the heavy rain, the Seoul city government activated Emergency Level 1 (Caution), with 355 city hall employees and 3,110 district office employees entering a 24-hour emergency work system.

During the night, a total of 36 emergency response operations were conducted, including 23 drainage support operations and 13 safety measures for street trees and walls, but no significant damage from the heavy rain has been reported so far.

The city also reported that 36 rainwater pumping stations are partially operating, and monitoring of weather conditions and river levels is being strengthened.

Prior to this heavy rain, the Seoul city government announced that it had pre-secured 'rainwater storage facilities' with a capacity of 641,234 tons at 12 locations, including Seoul Grand Park.
