Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 17th that 1,292 candidates passed the 1st Gyeongbuk Province Local Government Open Competitive Recruitment Written Exam held on June 21.
In this public recruitment exam, 8th grade nursing, 9th grade administration, and 20 other series aimed to select 1,182 people, with 8,878 applicants. Among them, 6,595 candidates took the exam held in four regions including Pohang and Gumi, showing an average participation rate of 74.2%.
Kim Hak-hong, Vice Governor for Administrative Affairs, said, "I sincerely congratulate those who passed the written exam, and we have carefully prepared so that examinees can take the interview in a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere," emphasizing, "I hope the remaining interview goes well and that they work together as talents leading the future of Gyeongsang-do with good results."
From this year, the Korean and English subjects have shifted to focus on evaluating logic and reasoning closely related to field duties, resulting in longer passages and a 10-minute extension of exam time, yet the passing scores generally remained high.
In particular, the passing score for the health series was 99 points, where even getting two questions wrong would result in failure. The passing scores for the administrative series, which recruits the most people, were 90 points for Pohang City and Goryeong County, 89 points for Gumi City, and 86 points for Gyeongsangbuk-do.
The average scores of successful candidates by series were 91.7 points for nursing, 89.7 points for health, 89.2 points for health care, and 85.9 points for administration.
The average age of the successful candidates announced this time is 29.3 years, with 82 people (6.4%) aged 19-24, and 694 people (53.7%) aged 25-30, the largest group.
Following this, there were 413 people (32%) in their 30s, 89 people (6.9%) in their 40s, and 14 people (1.1%) in their 50s.
The oldest successful candidate was 55 years old in the general administration series, and the youngest was 18 years old in the general civil engineering series.
Female candidates accounted for 49.5% of the total successful candidates, with 640 people, and although female candidates have accounted for more than 50% in the past five years, the success rate slightly decreased this time.
Additionally, 14 people passed the written exam in the recruitment for disabled persons, which aimed to select 121 people, and 19 people passed in the recruitment for low-income groups, which aimed to select 32 people.
Meanwhile, the province will conduct document reviews and personality tests for the successful candidates, and interviews will be held for three weeks starting August 4, with the final successful candidates announced on September 17.
To alleviate the burden of the heatwave during the hot weather and provide a better interview environment for examinees, the interviews will be conducted at the newly planned Gyeongbuk Human Resources Development Institute (located in Hyeong-eup, Yecheon County).
