'Seosan 400mm Heavy Rain' Water Bombs in Various Parts of Chungnam... Residents Evacuate Due to Dangjincheon Overflow

Flood Warning in Yesan, Nonsan, Buyeo, Gongju, Asan... All Areas Except Geumsan
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 17th, as of 4:10 AM, the accumulated rainfall in the west coast area of Chungnam recorded 402.7mm in Seosan, 305.0mm in Seocheon, 302.5mm in Taean, and 225.0mm in Dangjin. A heavy rain warning has been issued for all areas of Chungnam except Geumsan.
As heavy rain poured, flood warnings were issued for major rivers in Chungnam cities and counties, and local governments sent evacuation disaster messages to residents in areas at risk of flooding.
Dangjin City sent an emergency message at 3:53 AM, stating, "As Dangjincheon is overflowing, please evacuate to Dangjin Elementary School and Dangjin National Sports Center."
Seosan City also sent a message at 4:15 AM, stating, "Due to the risk of Seongyeoncheon overflowing in Seongyeon-myeon, nearby residents are advised to evacuate to safe places such as high ground."
As of 5 AM, a flood advisory was issued for Nocheon Bridge on Ungcheoncheon in Boryeong, Seogyeong Bridge on Shinyangcheon in Yesan, Jicheon Bridge on Jicheon in Buyeo, Gukjae Bridge on Yuguchon in Gongju, Dongseong Bridge on Seokseongcheon in Nonsan, and Chungmu Bridge on Gokgyocheon in Asan. A flood warning was issued for Guman Bridge on Sapgyocheon in Yesan and Chaewoon Bridge on Yeokcheon in Dangjin.
36 Chungnam provincial officials and 907 city and county officials have been on emergency duty since the previous night.
Each city and county is currently compiling the number of evacuees and damage status, and fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.
The Korea Meteorological Administration has forecasted that strong rain of 50-80mm per hour (over 80mm in some areas) will continue in the Chungcheong region today.
