"Rumors of Yoon's Rage Proven True... Responsibility for Chae Soo-geun Marine's Death Must Be Clarified"
[Financial News] Park Jung-hoon, head of the Marine Corps Investigation Unit (Colonel), appeared as a witness at the special prosecutor's team for Private Chae Sang-byeong (Lee Myung-hyun special prosecutor) and expressed his thoughts as "justice will prevail."
Colonel Park appeared at the special prosecutor's office in Seocho-gu, Seoul around 1 PM on the 16th and was asked by reporters, "What do you think about Kim Tae-hyo, former first deputy director of the National Security Office, changing his testimony to acknowledge former President Yoon Seok-yeol's rage?" He replied, "Ultimately, the truth will be revealed and justice will prevail."
He added, "Since the part where the rage started has been proven true, not just a rumor, I believe everything will be properly revealed and sorted out."
Colonel Park, who was acquitted in the trial for charges of insubordination, said, "Everything has now returned to its place, and I believe this is all thanks to the support and prayers of the people. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the people once again."
He continued, "July 19th marks the second anniversary of Marine Chae Soo-geun's death," and expressed frustration, saying, "It is still unclear why he died and who is responsible for his death."
He also stated, "The special prosecutor is currently revealing various facts, and I am confident that all truths will be revealed and those responsible will face corresponding legal responsibilities," adding, "I will return to my position as a soldier and fulfill my duties."
The special prosecutor's team will investigate Colonel Park as a witness starting at 1:30 PM. They plan to reconfirm his stance and testimony regarding the "rumors of rage" he heard from former President Yoon, as well as overall matters related to the transfer and retrieval of investigation records.
At 2 PM, a witness investigation of Kang Yi-gu, former chief secretary to the president, will follow, and at 3 PM, a suspect investigation of Choi Joo-won, police superintendent, will take place.
