Well Done...Yongin City, Received Presidential Commendation 221 Times During 3 Years of Minseon 8th Term

【Financial News Yongin=Jang Chung-sik Reporter】Yongin City, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 16th that it has been awarded a total of 221 times from external organizations, including 5 Presidential Commendations during the 3 years of Minseon 8th term, and has been selected as the best or excellent institution in government evaluations.
In addition to the Presidential Commendation, there were 6 Prime Minister Commendations, 2 Auditor General Commendations, and 90 commendations from central ministries such as the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
Also, it received commendations 77 times from Gyeonggi Province, 2 times from government-funded institutions, and 39 times from others (national research institutes or central media), and was selected as the best or excellent institution.
First, the city was selected as an excellent institution in the disaster management evaluation by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and received the Presidential Commendation for three consecutive years from 2022 to 2024.
Yongin City is the first local government to receive the Presidential Commendation for three consecutive years in the disaster management evaluation.
The city received special grants of 245 million won last year, 230 million won in 2023, and 500 million won in 2022 along with the commendation.
Additionally, on the 11th, the city received the Presidential Award in the Population Policy Merit category at the '14th Population Day Ceremony' hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The city was highly evaluated for systematically promoting life-cycle tailored population policies, such as implementing childbirth support and pregnancy support policies, strengthening the child-friendly city foundation, improving the educational environment for elementary, middle, and high schools, supporting youth independence, and supporting the health and employment of the elderly, and thus received the Presidential Commendation.
Earlier, in December last year, it was the only basic local government in the country to receive the Presidential Commendation for completing a survey of approximately 120,000 local businesses in the '2024 Statistics Work Promotion Merit' evaluation by the National Statistical Office.
In addition, it received 6 Prime Minister Commendations and 90 awards from various government ministries such as the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and the Ministry of Environment.
