[Financial News] Samsung Electronics announced on the 16th that it won the 'Energy Grand Prize' at the '28th Energy Winner Awards', hosted by the Consumers Union of Korea and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Ministry of Environment, and Korea Energy Agency.
'Energy Grand Prize' is awarded to the most outstanding product among high-efficiency products with excellent energy savings. Samsung Electronics won the Energy Grand Prize this year with the 'Bespoke AI Hybrid KitchenFit Max' refrigerator, marking the seventh consecutive year of receiving this honor. The product also received the 'Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award', achieving a double crown.
Samsung Electronics' 'Bespoke AI Hybrid KitchenFit Max' refrigerator is characterized by its 'AI Hybrid Cooling' function, which was first applied to a household refrigerator in Korea last year, enhancing cooling efficiency. AI Hybrid Cooling is a new cooling method that can achieve optimal efficiency by operating both the compressor and Peltier semiconductor element together. Normally, the compressor operates independently to maintain energy consumption, but in situations requiring powerful cooling, both the compressor and Peltier element operate simultaneously to cool quickly.
This refrigerator operates more efficiently when set to 'AI Saving Mode' in the SmartThings application (app). The AI algorithm autonomously determines situations requiring maximum cooling, such as door opening and closing, allowing energy usage to be reduced by up to 25% depending on user-set conditions and product specifications.
Additionally, the 'Bespoke AI Dishwasher' received the 'Energy Technology Award', given to products with excellent energy efficiency technology, and the 'AI Wind-Free Combo Wall-Mounted' received the 'Energy Winner Award' for products with outstanding energy-saving effects.
The 'Galaxy Book5 Pro' also received the Energy Winner Award. This product improved power efficiency by up to 40% compared to last year's model of the same class by applying high-efficiency power supply circuits, low-power components, and low-power power technology. It improved power consumption by up to 25% even in power-saving mode using a low-power Intel processor and allows for up to 25 hours of battery use.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Electronics home appliances that received awards this time have a first-grade energy consumption efficiency rating, making them eligible for benefits from the 'Top Efficiency Home Appliance Rebate Program' implemented by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
