[Financial News] The Space Aviation Agency announced that it held a strategic meeting on the 16th at the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute to explore future R&D development directions for the Space Agency and the Astronomical Institute.
This meeting was prepared to discuss specific implementation plans to enhance national space science capabilities, such as next-generation space exploration and the convergence of astronomical space big data and AI, to lead the future deep space era.
The meeting, presided over by John Lee, Head of the Space Aviation Mission Headquarters, was attended by key executives, including the heads of each mission division of the Space Agency and the deputy director of the Astronomical Institute. The meeting began with an introduction of the Space Agency's strategic roadmap, followed by presentations on the Astronomical Institute's major achievements, vision, and development strategies such as next-generation space exploration and the convergence of astronomical space big data and AI. In-depth discussions were held on newly planned projects at the Astronomical Institute, such as ∆National Space Situational Awareness and ∆Korean Space Telescope.
John Lee emphasized, "Astronomy is a challenging process to answer the fundamental questions of 'the history and fundamental principles of the universe' posed by humanity," and stated, "The Space Agency will establish scientific missions with the Astronomical Institute to systematically answer these questions and share the process with the public to secure the legitimacy of space development."
