[Financial News]  On Wednesday the 16th, very strong and heavy rain is expected to pour over most regions nationwide.
Especially from the afternoon, there is a high possibility of heavy rain of around 50 millimeters per hour in the capital region and Chungcheong area, requiring special caution.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, rain will start from the early morning in the northeastern part of Gyeonggi and the inland and mountainous areas of central and northern Gangwon, and from the morning, precipitation will expand to most regions nationwide. Over the two days until the 17th, accumulated rainfall is forecasted to exceed 200 millimeters in some areas.
Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungnam will see 50 to 150 millimeters of rain, and there is a possibility of more than 200 millimeters in some parts of southern Gyeonggi and the western coast of Chungnam. Gangwon inland and mountainous areas, and Chungbuk will receive 50 to 100 millimeters, possibly more than 150 millimeters, Jeonbuk will see 30 to 100 millimeters, and the northwestern part of Jeonbuk is forecasted to receive up to 150 millimeters. Gwangju and Jeonnam will see 20 to 80 millimeters, the northern western coast of Jeonnam up to 100 millimeters, Gyeongnam and Busan·Ulsan will see 30 to 80 millimeters, and Gyeongbuk and Ulleungdo·Dokdo are expected to receive about 10 to 60 millimeters.
As a large amount of rain is concentrated in a short time, the water level of small and medium rivers can suddenly rise, so access to river surroundings should be avoided, and camping activities should be refrained from as much as possible. Thorough preparation is also needed for lowland flooding, soil runoff, landslides, and rockfall accidents.
Temperatures will range from a morning low of 19 to 24 degrees and a daytime high of 26 to 31 degrees, which is similar to or slightly lower than normal. Due to the influence of precipitation, air quality is expected to be good, and the fine dust concentration nationwide is expected to remain at a 'good' level.
Waves at sea are also rough. In the coastal waters, waves of 0.5 to 1.5 meters are expected in the East Sea and West Sea, and in the open sea, waves of 1.0 to 3.5 meters in the East Sea and 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the South Sea are forecasted.
The meteorological authorities stated that there is a possibility that the center of this precipitation may continue to move south or remain stationary, and forecasts may be adjusted according to weather changes.
