Voluntary Agreement to Participate in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals
[Financial News] JW Holdings announced on the 15th that it has joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) to strengthen the company's sustainable management system to a global level. UNGC is the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative established by the United Nations (UN) in 2000, encouraging companies to adhere to 10 principles in four areas: human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption, while also participating in achieving the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a voluntary agreement.
Currently, more than 25,000 companies and institutions from 167 countries worldwide are participating in the UNGC, and various companies in Korea are also joining to practice sustainable management.
Through this membership, JW Holdings has been granted official membership status by the UNGC. With this as an opportunity, the company plans to introduce management principles based on the UNGC's 10 principles and the SDGs, and reflect them in company-wide management activities to systematically strengthen ESG capabilities.
A representative from JW Holdings stated, "Joining the UNGC is a strategic decision to solidify ESG management practices that align with global sustainability standards, based on JW's founding values of 'respect for life' and 'spirit of challenge,'" adding, "We will do our best to fulfill the responsible role required by the international community and enhance trust with global stakeholders."
