Chungnam Province to Invest 5 Billion Won in Heatwave Response

[Financial News] Chungnam Province will invest 4.254 billion won to minimize damage to life and property caused by heatwaves.
 According to Chungnam Province on the 15th, the budget being invested this time is additionally secured following the first 880 million won for heatwave measures in May, bringing the total budget for heatwave response to 5.062 billion won.
 Previously, on the 11th, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety provided a special grant of 35 billion won nationwide to ensure that vulnerable groups do not suffer from heatwaves at a joint discussion meeting of related agencies and experts held at the Seoul Metropolitan Government's International Conference Room.
 Chungnam Province has additionally allocated 3.954 billion won in special grants and 300 million won in provincial funds to focus administrative efforts on ensuring practical support such as the installation of heatwave mitigation facilities.
 The main support includes △expansion of heatwave mitigation facilities such as shade structures and mist sprayers △strengthening safety partner monitoring activities △supporting heatwave prevention supplies for livestock and fishery farms.
 Chungnam Province plans to continue tailored comprehensive responses focusing on heatwave-sensitive targets by matching dedicated personnel with heatwave intensive management targets in preparation for prolonged heatwaves.
 Park Jeong-ju, Vice Governor of Chungnam Province, said, “All 2.2 million residents are exposed to the risk of heatwaves, and how we respond can minimize damage,” and requested, “Please check directly through inspections to ensure that heatwave measures are working well on site.”
