[Financial News]  A case where countless stones were expelled from the kidney of a young Vietnamese man has been revealed. The medical community pointed to irregular lifestyle habits as the cause.

According to VN Express on the 14th, Dr. Mai Van Luoc, a urologist at a hospital in Hanoi, Vietnam, was recently shocked after seeing the CT scan results of a young male patient, Mr. A (35). This was because hundreds of stones were packed in his kidneys like corn kernels.

This patient was an IT industry engineer. He frequently worked overnight and drank carbonated drinks instead of water while sitting every day. Eventually, he visited the hospital complaining of chronic fatigue and was diagnosed with severe renal failure.

Dr. Luoc pointed out, "Incorrect lifestyle habits have worsened kidney function."

He continued, "Lack of exercise reduces the ability to expel waste, and lack of sleep disrupts biological rhythms and blood filtration functions," adding, "If low fluid intake is added to this, urine becomes concentrated, creating an environment conducive to stone formation."

The medical team removed hundreds of stones through extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy.

High-risk groups for kidney stones include office workers, gamers, and students. Typical symptoms are back pain, hematuria, and pain. If left untreated, it can lead to kidney swelling, urine retention, and loss of kidney function.

Meanwhile, according to a study by the U.S. National Library of Medicine, as of 2018, about 1-19.1% of the Asian population was reported to suffer from urolithiasis. It is estimated that 2-12% of the Vietnamese population has urolithiasis, with kidney stones accounting for about 40% of these cases.
