【Financial News Chuncheon=Reporter Kim Gi-seop】Governor Kim Jin-tae of Gangwon-do met with Woo Sang-ho, Chief of Political Affairs, at the Presidential Office on the 14th to propose the inclusion of provincial issues in the new government's national policy tasks. The request was made through National Assembly member Heo Young, who is active as a member of the National Planning Committee.
According to Gangwon Autonomous Province on the 14th, the proposed tasks this time consist of projects that can be realized in Gangwon Autonomous Province among major national policies and concretized the 7 major pledges of President Lee Jae-myung for Gangwon, increasing the possibility of inclusion in national policy tasks.
It was composed of a total of 68 projects, including 18 national proposal projects aligned with the new government's 'Vision of 5 Major Powers' strategy and 50 tasks summarizing Gangwon regional pledges and issues.
Governor Kim Jin-tae said, “Even during my time as a National Assembly member, our offices were right next to each other, so it’s even more delightful to see you again,” and added, “Since someone from Gangwon-do is in an important position, the residents feel reassured, so I hope you will help with many of Gangwon-do's issues.”
He emphasized, “In particular, I hope you will take special care of the passage of the 3rd amendment to the Gangwon Special Act, Gangwon's future industries, and SOC issues.”
In response, Chief Woo Sang-ho said, “Gangwon-do has brought the most and the earliest regional issues nationwide,” and added, “I will actively cooperate with Governor Kim Jin-tae to initiate what can be done within the term and continue to find things we can do together.”
He added, “Gangwon-do has a tradition of bipartisan cooperation on regional issues, so I will definitely talk to the Minister of National Defense and the Minister of Justice about not only the passage of the 3rd amendment to the Special Act but also the lifting of military protection zones and immigration policy regulations.”
Meanwhile, Gangwon-do plans to further strengthen communication with relevant ministries, the National Assembly, and the National Planning Committee to reflect provincial issues in national policy tasks in the future.
