According to the legal community on the 14th, the Women's and Children's Crime Investigation Department of the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Kim Jae-nam) indicted Mr. A, a man in his 20s, on charges of threat, obstruction of official duties by deception, etc., on this day.
Mr. A is accused of posting 14 times from October last year to February this year, announcing murders and terrorist attacks such as the murder of elementary students and women, the bombing of KINTEX, and the arson of the Constitutional Court.
It was investigated that Mr. A posted these threatening messages to instill fear and gain attention from unspecified individuals, including elementary students he met online.
Due to Mr. A's threatening posts, over 800 police officers were dispatched to the scene, wasting public power and causing anxiety among many citizens.
A prosecution official stated, "We will do our best to maintain the prosecution so that a sentence corresponding to the responsibility can be imposed," and "We plan to respond strictly to public threat crimes such as online murder announcements that threaten the safe daily life of the people."
