[Financial News]  In Massachusetts, USA, an incident occurred where rare Pokémon cards and vintage Pokémon card box sets worth over 100,000 dollars (about 138 million won) were stolen.

According to the New York Times (NYT) and others on the 13th (local time), rare Pokémon cards and vintage Pokémon card box sets were stolen from a Pokémon item and sports trading card store in New Bedford, Massachusetts, around 2:30 AM on the 10th.

William Gilmore, who operates the Pokémon item and sports trading card store, released CCTV footage from inside the store and photos of the lost Pokémon cards on his Facebook.

The video he released shows the thief breaking the store door with a hammer, running to the display case, putting Pokémon cards into a bag, and fleeing. The thief stayed in the store for about 30 seconds.

Gilmore stated that the value of the stolen cards and vintage card box sets ranges from 100,000 dollars (about 138 million won) to 113,000 dollars (about 156 million won).

The stolen items are known to include a first edition Charizard card with a BGS 8.5 grade and a first edition Blastoise card with a BGS 7.5 grade, both without shadows.

Holly Huntoon, a spokesperson for the New Bedford Police Department, said, "The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made yet."

Meanwhile, Pokémon cards, featuring various characters from the popular Japanese animation Pokémon, are considered one of the popular trading items among collectors worldwide, including in the United States. Their value is evaluated differently depending on the collector's preference and the rarity of the card.
