First Policy Meeting as Ruling Party Governor at National Assembly "Gyeonggi-do, One Voice for Korea's Development"
Governor Kim stated this at a 'policy meeting' with Democratic Party National Assembly members and non-parliamentary committee chairs from Gyeonggi-do, held at the National Assembly on this day.
This policy meeting is the first since the launch of the 8th popularly elected term, in a situation where the status has changed to 'ruling party governor + ruling party National Assembly member'.
42 out of 53 Democratic Party National Assembly members from Gyeonggi-do, including six-term Choo Mi-ae, Jo Jeong-sik, five-term Jeong Seong-ho, Yoon Ho-jung, and Kim Tae-nyeon, attended.
Also, 49 people attended, including six non-parliamentary committee chairs such as former lawmaker Lee Kwang-jae and Kim Byeong-wook, who was the regional chair of Seongnam-si Bundang-gu-eul and is now the political secretary of the Presidential Secretariat.
Governor Kim said, "(After the new government was launched) Gyeonggi-do has been striving to gather strength together as the number one national partner of our Lee Jae-myung People's Sovereignty Government. During the presidential election process, the policies that Gyeonggi-do had been pursuing and the things that Gyeonggi-do had put forward were greatly reflected in Lee Jae-myung's presidential pledges, and recently they have also been reflected in the National Planning Committee, which makes me very happy," adding, "To create a successful government, I will continue to gather strength with the members present here."
Lee Hak-young, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, who was present at the meeting, asked the attending members, "You will surely achieve the national tasks with Governor Kim Dong-yeon and Gyeonggi-do, right?" and encouraged applause by saying, "For the development of Korea, for the success of the Lee Jae-myung government, and for the change of Gyeonggi-do, please take good care of the national tasks, and give a big round of applause to Governor Kim Dong-yeon."
Kim Seung-won, a lawmaker (Gyeonggi Provincial Party Chair), also promised, "I understand that Governor Kim Dong-yeon ranks first in satisfaction among (provincial) governors nationwide and also ranks first in pledge fulfillment," adding, "I will also work together to ensure that Gyeonggi-do's national tasks are reflected in the national agenda."
The most senior member (six-term) at today's meeting, lawmaker Choo Mi-ae, said, "Our Gyeonggi-do is the backbone that raises the happiness of the people," adding, "Since Governor Kim Dong-yeon received the first place in evaluation earlier, I ask for everyone's cooperation to continue this momentum."
Another six-term lawmaker, Jo Jeong-sik, said, "Seeing the full house today, I think Gyeonggi-do is indeed great. I thank Governor Kim Dong-yeon and Chair Kim Seung-won for creating today's meeting, and I believe that Gyeonggi-do, which led the victory in the last presidential election, will also lead the success of the newly launched Lee Jae-myung government," shouting 'Gyeonggi-do Fighting!'.
